Firstly we would like to welcome all the new members to the Association, and wish you all a fantastic New Season ahead.

We will have many functions this year as well, so please visit our web site regularly.

Attached are the new Teams for this year. We have tried to keep them as much as possible as last year, but we had to strengthen more the Hocks, to make it interesting and more fun for all.
If you do not see your name in the attached teams, please inform me.
If you have a friend who will be interested in joining our League, again please let me know and will be most welcomed.
Players who are marked in red, are the ones who have yet to fill their registration form, so please complete the attached one.
As you know, to play in the away games in Dhekelia and Akrotiri, for security reasons, we need to supply them with ID numbers of our players and also Car registration numbers to be able to go inside the Bases. Please therefore add your details and send the form back to this email.
Teams will have to elect their captain's and vice captains, and let the Association, know accordingly

We will be starting the Hockey Academy this Saturday, 15th of September.

All youngsters, supporters (parents, etc) and coaching staff are welcome.

As last year, it will be on Saturdays at 10:30 in the mornings until 12:30

For this year we will charging a minimal fee of Pounds 10.00 per person (special rates for families), to help us cover the costs and events that we will be holding. Supporters and coaching staff, no charge☺

We would like to thank every single person, young and old for there participation at the 7th Global Youth Hockey Marathon. We the Cyprus Hockey Association believe it was a success from every perspective. Although we probably could have given the little ones from hockey time. But all-in-all, friends were made and I personally have realized the Cyprus Youth Hockey has so much potential.

A special thanks to the President of the Cyprus Hockey Association Mr. Petros Karafokas for being the master mind, arranging the event and sending out the emails and pamphlets to all the parents.

Also to the kids from Dhekalia from supporting us, without there help and providing additional youngsters it would have being just another practice session, Thank you.

Lastly and most importantly to the parents and youngsters, because without your support and enthusiasm for the sport, we would not have been able to arrange such at event at least to a successful one.

Congratulations to ESOBGA, for winning the Moore Stevens Cup final. The final score was 3-2 to them. It was a very well balanced match, although most have criticized the Lions from choking every time we play ESOGBA, I personally feel that the more enthusiastic team won it on the day. Congratulations to Robert Hands and his Team.

A congratulations to George the Lions Goalkeeper for being nominated man of the match, a he made several very excellent saves to keep the score at 3-2.

Practices
Every Saturday	Hockey practices will be every Saturday at 15h00, starting 01 December 2007, please support this and coordinate with your club captains or myself (hockey@spidernet.net)

European Club Challenge IV
8 - 11 May 2008	As the winners on 2007/2008 the Lions Hockey Club is going to participate in the European Club Challenge IV Tournament. This tournament is will be held in Moravske Toplice, Slovenia from 8 May until 11 May 2008. Tournament outline is as follows: Pool A: HK Moravske Toplice (SLO), Malmö LHK (SWE), HK Sveti Djordje (SCG) and Aker HC (NOR) Pool B: HC Ardas-Rudamina (LTU), Gaziantep Polis Gucu SC (TUR), HC NSA (BUL) and Lions HC (CYP) More information about preparation for this tournament will be announced in the next coming weeks. Hockey Gear - Order Now
Order Hockey Equipment	Andreas is in the process of accepting orders for Dita hockey equipment. Cup Final - Result

Youth Hockey Academy
Hockey Academy	In an effort to introduce hockey to the youngsters in Cyprus, the president of the Cyprus Hockey Association, has arranged hockey camps for all youngsters on Saturday mornings from 10h00 until 12h30. These training camps started in March 2007 and are proving to very successful with a minimum of 30 kids attending each session. All children are very welcome, there are no costs involved. We would like to thank all the parents, youngsters and coaching staff, for their continuing help and support in making these camps successful and enjoyable to all involved. For more information about these camps please send an email with your contact details to either hockey@spidernet.net or gracesta@cytanet.com.cy and we will send you more information. Currently children from the ages of 7 until 17 attend, but if you are interested in an older crowd, get in contact with us and we can see how we can accommodate you. Maybe you can join once of many clubs throughout Cyprus or when we start a camp for an older crowd you can join.
Score sheet
	The score sheet can now be downloaded from the results and stats tab. Please remember to fax or email these forms as soon as possible to the Cyprus Hockey Association to avoid any incorrect results being posted.
Practices
New Time	Practices will be 15h30 on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 21 October 2006. Please start attending these practices even if you have a hockey match on the weekend. Practices are meant to be fun and allow to people get to know and to develop at this sport, this cannot be achieved if we 2 or 3 people attend practices on a regular basis.
